Calculation for EPS Pool Blocks
The page gives an insight into how to calculate the number for pool blocks needed for construction a swimming pool from it.
STEP 1: Determination of Total Pool Volume (Length x Width x Depth) in cubic meter.
Assuming the pool volume to be 8 x 4 x 1.5 m as illustrated in fig. 1.

Fig. 1 A pool of 8 x 4 x 1.5 m to be constructed from pool blocks
STEP 2: Calculation of Wall and Floor Area of the Pool
Pool Wall Area = 2
x ((8 x 1.5) + (4 x 1.5)) = 36 sq. m.
STEP 3: Quantity of Pool Blocks Required
The dimension of the EPS pool block: 1 x 0.25 x 0.25 m [Mega Part No. 7017092].
The face area of EPS pool block: 1 x 0.25 = 0.25 sq. m.
Total Pool blocks Required: Area of Pool Wall / Face area of Pool
= 160 blocks STEP 4: Quantity of Pool End Blocks Required
The dimension of the EPS pool end block: H = 0.25 m [Mega Part No. 7017093]
Numbers of layers of Pool blocks needed: 1.5 / 0.25 = 6 layers
Total Number of End blocks Needed: 6 x 4 x 2 [2 per each layer in a corner]
= 48 End blocks
Thus a swimming pool of size 8 x 4 x 1.5 m requires 160 EPS blocks and 48 End blocks.
If XXL blocks are used instead of standard blocks:
Dimensions of XXL EPS Pool block: 1.25 x 0.25 x 0.5 m [Mega Part No. 7017165]
Dimension of the XXL EPS pool end block: H = 0.5 m [Mega Part No. 7019384]
Thus a swimming pool of size 8 x 4 x 1.5 m requires 80 EPS XXL blocks and 24 XXL End blocks.
