Root Watering System
The Root watering system (RWS) effectively delivered water, air, and nutrients to the trees and shrubs. It easily connects the irrigation lateral lines or can be installed in a drip zone
How to Select correct RWS Product
The RWS is available in three sizes.
- 36" - For Large to Medium-sized trees (>36" Root Ball Diameter)
- 18" - For Small Trees and Large Shrubs ( 12" -36" Root Ball Diameter)
- 10" - For Smaller Shrubs and trees (<12" Root Ball Diameter)
How to Determine the number of units per tree or shrubs
- For Large to Medium-sized trees - 3 or more RWS unit
- For Small Trees and Large Shrubs - 2 RWS- M units
- For Smaller Shrubs and trees - 2 RWS -S Units
Things to consider when Installing
- For large to medium-sized trees equally space the RWS with no more than 30" Between them.
- For small trees and large shrubs place the RWS unit on opposite sides of the plant material. If shrubs and trees are placed 12" apart use 1 RWS as between each plant
- For Slop landscapes install the RWS uphill from the plant material
- Be sure to specify the RWS units with check valves to reduce or eliminate low head drainage and erosion.
- make sure that the holes are slightly larger and deeper than the RWS unit.
- For extremely harder and clay soil considering adding 3/4" pea gravel beneath the unit they help water distribution.
- Fill RWS with pea gravel to create firmness against root compression
