Slatted Covers

Introduction

Cover will keep a pool clean and protect it from dust and debris, but do not confuse safety covers and do not consider keeping children safe when not in the pool. Using a slotted cover will save up to 75% of the total heat loss from the pool water from heat loss through evaporation and thus significantly reduce the heating cost of the pool. Stopping evaporation helps to reduce the amount of chemicals used to maintain hygiene and to reduce the amount of water needed to top the pool after evaporation. Slotted covers can be designed to accommodate not only rectangular pools, but also Roman edges and many other pool shapes.

Like a bubble cover, a slotted pool cover floats to the surface of your pool, but since they are somewhat stiff, you can push them into the pool water with a roller and remove them in the same way. The slates are usually smooth, making them easy to combine with each other and easy to keep on the roller. The roller used for the slots can be operated manually or electrically, it can be submerged in a pit or placed above the ground at one end of the pond. Rollers placed in a pit are usually installed during pool construction, but the top rollers can be rebuilt in most pools. The roller and slotted cover are usually covered with a housing for weather protection and a beautiful finish.

Slotted pool covers fall into three main categories. Plastic slots, foam filled slots, polycarbonate slots. Plastic (PVC) slots are relatively inexpensive, with air pockets inside and plastic end caps that seal each one. The slots are then joined together with a ridge and groove [clip hinged together]. Foam-filled slots do not have end caps because the foam itself is corroded, so there is no need to seal. The slots are joined together with a rubber seal or groove system. Polycarbonate slots are often clear, allowing sunlight to heat the pool. The solar slots have a clear top and a black bottom to increase the heat that can be drawn from the sun into the pool.

Types

  1. Automatic Slatted Safety Cover - Type IMM'ax
  2. Above water automatic slatted cover, Type Open Neo
  3. Above water automatic slatted cover, Type Open Solar energy

Automatic Slatted Safety Cover - Type IMM'ax

They are designed for pools of 2 X 2 m up to 7 X 14 m. The exclusive design of IMM'ax underground slatted cover with motor housed in the roller shaft is very easy to install and avoids masonry work, discretely designed as the roller can be hidden under the pool duckboards. Simply operated by turning the key and within 3 minutes the cover unrolls or rolls back while the travel stop positions are pre-set. Ultrasound welded plugs provide reliability and an impeccable finish to the profiled slat wings and can be connected in series to filtration & dosing control systems to significantly reduce chemical usage and prolong the life span of the pool cover. They available as either poly carbonate slats or polycarbonate solar slats

Above water automatic slatted cover, Type Open Neo

Open Neo is the most economic model of surface mounted, automatic, slatted cover. It is offered in standard white base stand, white slats with squared finishing. It applies NF P 90-308 standard to ensure absolute user safety.

Above water automatic slatted cover, Type Open Solar energy

Open Solar Energy is a solar powered, surface mounted, slatted cover with automatic limit switches. The elegant stand-alone design avoids the need for major wiring work which is ideal for pool refurbishments. Open solar Energy can operate anywhere and all year round with just 5 hours of sunlight per day. It adheres to NF P 90-308 standards to ensure absolute user safety.
